Item History & Price
ANTIQUE BISQUE SOCKET HEAD Armand Marseille AM LOVELY GERMAN 8 1/2" FLAPPER DOLL
This doll has an absolutely gorgeous face! She has a composition socket head with, stationary, blue glass eyes and an open mouth with 4 teeth. She has a blonde wig and is marked on the back of the head " Made in Germany Armand Marseille 390 DRGM 240 A 9/0 M ". Her body is jointed at the shoulders and hips and is entirely composition. She wears..., painted, two strap shoes. Her clothes appear to be all original with a green silk dress, a silk slip, a netting slip, and bloomers made out of the same netting as her slip (see photo). She measures approximately 8 1/2" tall (just the doll) and about 9" to the top of her hair. This doll is in very good condition with no chips or cracks to the bisque and the color still looks great! Her composition body looks good with only some wear to the finish, from age and use. She was strung together and there are added on pieces of composition at the top of each arm (it looks like a small clump, see photo. This was done when she was made). She is strung together nicely and is poseable. Her dress has holes and tears to the silk and it was sewn while on her...I can't take it off without ruining it. The netting underclothes look fine. This is a very rare Armand Marseille bisque socket head doll with the " flapper body ". She will make a wonderful addition to any collection! Being offered at a low starting bid (as usual) and with no reserve. Stand included.
