Hard-to-find, Madame Alexander "Princess Elizabeth Bride" doll, 1940s. She was Madame's vision on how the future Queen would look for her upcoming Royal Wedding. Made of composition and measuring 21" tall. She has a brown mohair wig in its original set and blue/green eyes. Her lovely ivory/white satin wedding gown is styled with princess seams, leg o'mutton sleeves, and decorated with lilies of the valley. Neckline, sleeves and hem are edged in a loopy tri...m. The gown is shorter in front and longer in the back. The back of the neck is tagged "Princess Elizabeth". Underneath her gown is an eyelet trimmed white cotton slip and panties combination (attached). Panties are decorated with blue bows for that "something blue". She wears thigh high rayon stockings and white oilcloth side snap shoes trimmed with bows on the toes. On her right hand is a ribbon trimmed floral bouquet. Condition: Her composition has hairlines and cracking, most noticeable on her head. There are areas of light browning on her gown at folds along with a few pinpricks near the hem. About 3" of the hem trim (at the back) was missed when it was originally stitched at the factory so it will need to be attached. Her right shoe is missing a heel and the left one is missing its sole. Veil is missing. Definitely worth restoring. She is truly a rare beauty and a stunning doll for any collection!
