ANTIQUE FRENCH 18K GOLD HORSE SHAPED FOB & LION HEDGEHOG CREST AGATE SEAL
An antique French 18 carat gold (of hollow construction) fob; beautifully modelled as a horse, with pretty floral motifs to the base and set with a carnelian agate seal base, engraved with two separate crests - a lion sejant and a hedgehog. Such a fabulous seal...lovely quality, so collectible & very wearable too!CONDITION: All original and very good. Some shallow denting & tarnish commensurate with... age and use. Nibbling & small chips to seal edge - see pictures.DATE/MARKS: Late 19th Century. French eagle's head gold mark.DIMENSIONS: 33 mm long, seal 32 x 16 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.WEIGHT: Approx. 10.5 grams.Click here to view our other items.
