Up for auction is an excellent condition and complete BKW Alexander-Kins from 1956. She is #582 titled "Wendy Attending a House Party" and she is just precious. The doll has bright all original facial coloring and a beautiful red triple stitch wig in little side bunches of curls with original ties that match the pinafore. There are no splits, stains, or cracks in her plastic and her walking mechanism does work some and her arms pose nicely. The outfit consists of a brown polished cotto...n dress, taffeta pinafore, slip, panties, socks, brown fuzzy bottom side snap brown shoes, correct green hat with flower decoration, and correct basket with matching flowers. Overall I would call this doll excellent. There are a couple of very minor things though, a little discoloration on the panties and the elastic in the dress sleeves is a little loose but display nicely. The tagged brown dress is nice and shiny and has good body. The taffeta pinafore is bright and crisp with no discoloration. The slip stays up fine. The hat is in great condition and the elastic chin cord has enough original stretch to stay on the head well. The little basket was called a handbag in the 1956 catalog. She is a lovely little Kin that would look great in any collection. Please take a look at my other vintage Alexander items this week.
