2014 Fender American Vintage ' 65 Jazzmaster Olympic White W/ Lollar & Mastery
Item History & Price
The maple neck has a medium C shaped profile with more roundness and heft up the board and notably more shoulder than the earlier ’62 reissues in the American Vintage line. The profile has a smooth flawless nitro lacquer gloss, measuring .849" deep at the 1st fret and .980" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard conforms to traditional Fender specs with a 7 1/4" radius, and the fretwire is flawless. The neck is arrow straight, and the guitar plays effortlessly up the 25 1/2" scale. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock retains the stock Kluson Deluxe tuning machines.
The electronics all work as intended, with the upgraded pair of Lollar pickups wired to an otherwise original harness. The tortoise pickguard is a gorgeous recreation and a notable upgrade from stock, crafted from genuine nitrate tortoise with a wide edge bevel and compelling, vintage-correct tint and mottling. The Mastery M1 bridge is the ultimate upgrade for any Offset Fender guitar, providing notable stability and improved resonance, and working in concert with the stock vibrato unit which provides a very nuanced and fluid response. The original gloss nitro lacquer Olympic White finish is exceedingly clean, and actually has a subtle blue tinge. Wear is limited to a few stray tiny nicks and scuffs, and a tiny bit of finish discoloration on the thin nitro at the belly cut and forearm contour.
The original black tolex G&G hardshell case is included, along with the original hangtags and tort pickguard.
