This beautiful building block set survived more than 100 years and is still in amazing condition:  The blocks and the inside of the box are very clean.  If the blocks are arranged correctly,  there would be room for 2 more cube shaped (about 1 x 1 x 1") blocks,  but placing the pieces in a different order might make the 2 little gaps disappear.The paper label on the lid has the BLISS Co. logo in the left bottom corner.  Whatever I could find out about this set ...points to the very early 1900s, maybe even late 1800s.  The box measures 11 2/16" x 7 3/4" and is 1 1/2" high.  The lid slides out to the right side, it rests safely in the bottom groove but the top part of the upper side wall is not complete, so the lid just rests on top of the box. The corners of the box are solidly made with real dove tails.  The walls ( just over 1/4" thick)  seem very sturdy even though one has a 3-inch sidewards split.
