For auction is a very nice piece of Arts and Crafts designed art pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The item is called a vase and it has a good size to it. The vase stands 5 1/4" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at the bulbous bottom. The vase depicts a twisted form on a cylindrical shape with a bulbous bottom. The background glaze is done in one of Weller's most popular and highly collected glazes known as "Bedford Matt Green". The vase has raised or em...bossed wave like raised lines running at an angle. The wave starts out at the top and form off a triangular shape and runs at an angle towards the bottom with the relief becoming less noticed in the middle and greater at the end. These waves continue to the very bottom edge where it curls under. There are 2 areas along the waves that have nice deep green glaze runs. This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The inside of the vase shows minor wear and crazing. This vase is signed with the impressed block letter "Weller" mark along with a bluish green bottom. Weller collectors know that if the vase didn't have the Weller mark it still could be identified by this painted bottom as well Pottery. Those of you who collect matte green Arts and Crafts styled pieces and want an nice example of this glaze will love it! It will look outstanding on that Stickley, Mission, Arts & Crafts style bookcase. This vase was made circa 1910-1920.
PLEASE READ BELOWI want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 11.5% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.5%. This is an increase of 8.6% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.5% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
