This antique carved wooden Christian Icon i think dates from between 1880 and 1900 , the icon has been really well carved with fantastic detail in a pierced design as seen in the photos, there are three figures in the foreground a city in the background and clouds above with angels within, the icon has a paper backing and has its original case with a sliding lid that has nice patina with age , i am not certain of the origins of the icon but perhaps Russian or European as not an expert ...on these things, the icon measures 2.75 x 2 inches and in excellent condition , the case measures 4 x 3.25 inches with general wear and tarnish with age
