Antique Staffordshire Black White Spaniel
This great diminutive little spaniel is presented in miniature size. Mid to late 19th Century. Wonderful face and decoration, age appropriate wear, and fine definition of lines for such a tiny piece. Approx. 4 1/2" H X 3" W.

Condition: Cracked and Repaired but still a nice presentation piece in unusual size.
The Spaniel Dogs, wer...e a staple of the Victorian household and assimilate just as well in a present day. The origin or inspiration is thought to be the pet King Charles Spaniel "Dash", kept by Queen Victoria, as a child, who became her contest component when she became Queen.
The first comforters appeared at the beginning of the 1840's and continued in production into the 1900's.
