This antique cream silk colorful floral embroidered Manton de Manila piano shawl dates from 1900. It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric background, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work of a variety of flowers embroidered throughout with a blue, g...reen vine leaf design and four larger varying shades of pink to red roses in each corner. There is a heavy hand knotted macrame cream silk fringe trim edging measuring 22 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 58 by 58 inches. This quality made Manton de Manila Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl is quite heavy weighing 3 pounds. It is in good as-is condition, has not been cleaned with a cluster of faint stains near the center a small stain on side edging and corner, also some loose pulled threads on the embroidery work (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art!
