Antique 19thc Parian Figure of “The Archangel Michael” c1870 For Restoration After Bertel Thorvaldsen Rare Parian figure standing 13.5 inches high on a circular base 5 inches across. Beautiful modelling with excellent detail, the Parian smooth, creamy and tactile. The condition is as follows: The bottom part of both wings has been broken off, there is a minor nibble on the rim of the base and the sword he should hold is also missing.The p...hotos doform part of the description so please assess carefully. The figureis unmarked but is more than likely by Minton as a similar figure can be seen in The Parian Phenomenon page 73 fig.107 In spite ofthe obvious condition issues this rarely seen figure still displays well but would certainly benefit from some good restoration.
