Up for auction is a vintage 1950's ballerina doll made by the Valentine Doll Company, perhaps called Valentina, in a case filled with clothing and accessories. From what I can tell, this company made many different size ballerina dolls - I see others have been listed as 10.5" but with her toes pointed/arched heel feet I measure her closer to 11". Thus the markings on the back of her head "11 VW". This case lot is straight from the childhood owner who said this was her favorite do...ll. She has a hard plastic body with vinyl head, rooted hair, sleep eyes, jointed at neck, shoulders, waist, hips and knees and has high heel feet. Nice makeup and hair and she moves/poses as she should. She has drop earrings (metal corroded, but does not seem to have affected her vinyl), and is wearing her original ballerina tutu and slippers (no ribbon ties, although there are pink ribbons in the accessory drawer that may be the originals). There are also several other outfits/clothing and accessories as seen in the photos - about half are factory made and the rest may be handmade. Everything seems to be in excellent played-with condition. Has been stored in the pink locker-style doll case (also excellent condition) which will be included.
