Up for auction is European Travel diary circa 1937. The diary was written by a young American woman a Miss Charlotte Aube while traveling with her friend a Miss Chorltte Cutis. She traveled via steamship but does not identify the ship her diary actually begins in France. Although brief 20 pages of content ( 10 double sided pages) She does write some rather interesting details about her journey.
I assume she must have been an art student or perhaps had great knowledge... of art history. The diaries main focus is on France, and her entries contain commentary about historic sites, and art. In addition to the diary is a small group of ephemera.Condition is good diary is contained in a red leather textured journal. Shows slight wear around the edges slight foxing to pages and no odor. The diary also contains the original folding map and pencil. I have other diaries on offer today. For example two fascinating diaries /logbooks from U.S. Navy personal during WW II that are full of combat entries. I will be listing various diaries, archives, and manuscripts in the coming weeks feel free to bookmark my ebay page. As always any questions feel free to ask.
