Adams Tunstall Jasperware Biscuit Barrel. This is a beautiful Victorian Covered Jar made for high Tea Time in England. This was the Cracker Jar, Biscuit Barrel used to adorn the table for 4pm Tea time. This one is in particularly fine condition with no chips, cracks nor repairs to report. The Silver has polished up very well with almost all tarnish gone from sight. The Barrel is marked on the bottom, impressed in the clay before it was fired, with the Adams Company Mark.&nb...sp;The scene in white relief is just exquisite on the front with all kinds of figures trees & accessories all put on by hand and fired when wet. The Dark Blue is especially nice it is very deep almost black in color. Like its Wedgwood cousin this piece is a very great example of the English Art Pottery of the 19th century. The mark has England on it and therefore is after 1891. The Barrel measures 9 1/2" tall to the top of the handle by 5 1/2" tall with handle down. It is 5 1/2" across at the middle.
