Up for auction from my Great Uncles, Pennsylvania, estate is an antique Winchester Model 60 fishing reel. Winchester Repeating Arms of New Haven, Connecticut would have built this reel between 1920 and when they discontinued manufacturing fishing equipment in 1930. The reel seat is marked"WINCHESTER, Trade Mark, Made In the U.S.A - 1319", while under the reel seat is the number "60" underlined. The reel only measures 2” x 2” with the reel seat just at 2 1/2" x... 1/2" ….. jeff Company history - A great many people are unaware of the eleven-year effort of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company to make a major impact in the general sporting goods business in the United States.
