This is a great Sugar Cane Machete made in the Dominican Republic in the 1950's. My father was a career Force Recon Marine during the 1950's and brought a pair of these machetes home with him (the other is listed in a separate auction). While ostensibly designed for agriculture, during the 1950's they were used much more frequently as weapons. They are still very sturdy and passably sharp; I've done nothing but wipe them off with a damp rag. Please look over the pictures and let me kno...w if you need additional information.
