original US Army AAF WW2 A-1 KNIT WOOL MECHANIC'S SWEATER Wear W/ Flight Jacket The A-1 sweater was designated as a Mechanic’s item even though it proved to be very popular with aircrew, largely due to its pullover design and great warmth (the lighter type C-2 zippered-front cardigan being the official aircrew knit garment). This came out of and estate sale has wear and holes.
