Giant Polychrome Staffordshire TURKEY Platter.Manufactured by British Anchor Pottery Co., for American Importer Rowland & Marsellus.Clearly marked on the back: R & M Co, STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND.The platter also has a hand written style number in orange on the back: 6949This piece measures 20" across and 16" high.The transfer is hand decorated in Blue, Yellow, Green and Bright Orange.There is both underglaze and over glaze decoration.The platter is in very good condition. There is... a small crack toward the top but it is NOT a repair and it never chipped.There is small crack (1") on the back, this is not visible from the front.I have shown these two cracks in the last 2 photos.There are no chips and no stains or discoloration.There is come crazing, but not unusual for the age of this piece.This piece is XL and very heavy.
