This is a very interesting world globe, a small wooden and paper globe/stand that has most of its features written in Italian. The globe is just under six inches, and with its stand is 8 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Its features are on 12 paper panels that have been applied by hand to the globe. The globe itself is hollow and made of some thin material (I can't tell because of the applied panels but it sounds like a light plastic when I tap it). The wooden ring arou...nd the globe has meridian labels and marks and the stand has zodiac signs/symbols on it. The globe rotates freely.
A very nice piece, but I will point out the following small flaws. Because the panels are hand applied, there are some areas that don't line up perfectly. There is also a small spot near the top of the globe where a panel has slightly lifted and a rattling sound from something inside the globe (possibly where the plastic post holding the top of the globe broke off). See photo #10. I consider these small flaws on a nice globe, but look at the photos and decide for yourself.
