I ordered this Guitar from Guild in late 1976. It was hand made at the old Guild Factory in Rhode Island and because of its value I have kept it for use in selective applications for its rich sound. (Some currently refer to it as my Christmas guitar) It has an L.R. Baggs dual source pre-amp pickup customized with a Fishman transducer under the saddle fo...r improved sound.
Obviously, the guitar will come with the Guild logo case. I will also throw in a D'Addario planet waves humidifier, not as a "selling" tool but because I wouldn't ship it without one in it.
Original features are a solid AAA sitka spruce top. Custom X bracing, solid figured Maple sides, rosewood bridge, ebony fretboard with natural mother of Pearl inlays, Original Gold Grover Rotomatic Machine heads, and an arched figured maple back for volume with deep and crisp sound.
The guitar is in excellent condition. There are a few nearly imperceptible lacquer checks on the top and 2 very small "dings". Please look at the pictures of the top for reference. I have had the bridge reset at Guild many years ago without issue, and I just had their local registered service shop go over it to assure me that all is stable and correct top to bottom. The lutherie was very impressed with the guitar's condition and has offered to field any inquires about it.
I've enjoyed this guitar for 43 years but I can't justify keeping it with declining use. This guitar should be played out and recorded and I'd be glad if someone who appreciated its rarity and unique quality would enjoy it in the future. I played this for lots of people in meaningful settings over the years, and it might be someone else's turn.
