Rare Vintage 1930s Pongee Silk Art Deco Robe . Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Wow! A rare geometric deco print pongee silk menswear inspired robe. May actually be a smaller men’s robe, I don’t know! Silk ground is an ecru color printed with orange, blue, and green motif. Ecru cuffs and collar. One pocket at hip. Unlined. Belt loops but no belt. One snap at waist to close.
In good vintage condition. Please see the bottom of this description for general notes on how I rate m...y vintage. The sleeves were shortened just above the cuffs at some point. I did not remove the seam as I was afraid the thread would leave holes in the silk. The sleeves are still a good length. Some small holes, especially near the bottom half of the robe and on one sleeve. There are some areas on the print with white splotches that look like flaws that took place during the screen print process. There are subtle lines in the weave but that is natural to the fabric as this is a raw silk. The seams at the underarms had a one inch area where it became separated. Those were expertly repaired by my seamstress and not noticeable.
I steamed this, but please note that this fabric just loves to wrinkle! You’ll probably need to steam it once it arrives. Do not iron.

A stray piece of fur may end up on anything you buy from me even though I do my best to keep my animals away from my sale items.
