Vintage NEW WITH ORIGINAL HANG TAG GUNNE SAX Floral Prairie Country Cotton Voile Lace Maxi Dress.
This beautiful iconic Gunne Sax Dress is constructed from a sheer (see picture 5) cotton voile in a black with gold trellis pattern, accented with pink & gold tiny flowers, that look like roses. The bodice has a peasant style gathered center front panel that is framed with lace panels ascending to the shoulder, & along the bottom at the waistline. This forms the effect of a squa...re neckline. The sleeves are leg o mutton style with lace panels on the outside of the long straight bottom half of the sleeve, then completed by a lace trim around the bottom of the sleeve at the wrist. The skirt is constructed of 3 tiered gathered panels, with lace flounce trim where the top of the bottom panel meets the bottom of the middle panel. The fabric ties are attached at the waist & are shown tied in the back of the dress as was the fashion in the time when this dress was manufactured. The dress has a center back lapped zipper, so the zipper is not visible to the eye. The manufacturer's size tag is marked "7"

Pit to pit: 15 inches, so Bust is approximately 30 inches, there is a tiny bit of give because of the gathered front center panel.Waist: 13 inches, doubled 26 inch

This dress is in spectacular condition for being almost 50 years old! It has been stored in an airtight hanging bag kept in a cedar closet in our smoke free home as part of my personal vintage dress collection for over 25 years. I have examined it & find no flaws.
