Hello,
This item up for bid is a Pride TF-1000 clock and frequency counter for HAM and CB radio use. The frequency range per the manual is 1.8 to 40 MHz with +/- .003% accuracy. It has two power settings: a 25 watt and a 250 watt setting. This unit connects between the transmitter and the antenna and upon keying the microphone, the display automatically switches from the time of day to the transmitting frequency. The clock function is either 12 hour or ...24 hour format at the flick of a switch. The clock chip is the popular back then National Semiconductor MM5314N. The time base is derived from the 60 Hz mains frequency.
The unit has been tested but I am not a radio guy. The unit keeps good time and the counter was tested with the only means that I have to test something like this, a CB radio on channel 19 which is 27.185 MHz. See the last pic that displays 27.1855. I believe that to be in spec. I sold one other unit that displayed the same. The display automatically switches as it should. If ever needed, there is an easy access adjustment thru the bottom cover for calibration. It was tested on the 25 watt setting. The displays are bright and uniform. The line cord seems flexible yet even with its age.
To be forthcoming, the top plastic cover has some very small paint specs on the top cover that do not show up well because of the textured surface, hardly worth mentioning (someone's paint roller spatter, fairly common to see). The front bezel has been partly re-colored to give it a better appearance. The display is bright and fully functional. This unit is very presentable and is ready to use.
This is a used, late 70's vintage item and as with any vintage electronics, things can go wrong from time to time. I tried to put this thru the paces for a while to verify that it is stable before passing it on to you. Please be mindful and bid accordingly.
