Steiff St. Bernard on wheels with button in ear. Long F to E. From 1906 through the mid 1930’s, the button has the word “Steiff” with
the last “f” in “Steiff” trailing backwards to the letter “e” in “Steiff.” This is called the “long trailing f” button.
This early model is standing, unjointed, and made from mohair in a ginger and blonde color. This is a very popular and beloved turn of last century Steiff design.
Glass eyes, wood wheels on a metal fra...me. Embroidered nose and mouth. He stands 16" tall and 20" long. In very good condition. Some mohair loss.
Worn areas, tears, but still sound. See photos. Light colored
mohair has darkened with age, with the tail being the dirtiest part. Wheels roll nicely. Very sweet face.
