IF YOU BUY 2 OFTHE Betsy McCall Doll Hospital Parts AUCTIONS,  you will receive HALF OFF of 1st ClassShipping (and one CD) and by winning 3 - 5 auctions you will receive FREE1st Class SHIPPING (and one CD) or $3.50 off of the cost forPriority Mail postage.  If you buy more than one of theHOSPITAL PARTS auctions, please wait for an invoice with the discountedshipping cost before you pay. 5 day auction--My 8” Betsy Mc Call dollparts hospital needed a ...‘clean out’, so I have selected several pieces to sellwith the instructions and suggestions that my husband and I have put togetherthat will help you repair your broken Betsy.  The parts in this auctionare not ‘trash’ and can be starters for your own doll hospital.  They canbe used to make a doll,  BUT, (if it matters to you) you will need tofind parts that have ‘skin’ color that matches much better than these do toeach other.  I have even checked theseparts against the parts in the other lots that I am offering today and thereare no matches.The color of the completebody and torso is very nice, so nice in fact that finding matching Betsy dollheads is hard to do, therefore, I need to sell some off.  Thewinning bidder needs to understand that theseitems do not make a whole MATCHING doll.  For this reason, this auctionis sold 'as is' with no refund.  I have discovered that monitors may show pictures differently thanthose posted from the Seller's computer—even the tilt of the monitor makes adifference.  Therefore, you can rely on the description to be a very goodindication of the condition of this Betsy and use the pictures as a support, realizing that the coloring of this doll may be different than you see on yourmonitor.Parts included:  (all wigs do not have barrettes; no open head seams; alltorsos have neck hooks)BODY:-- The ‘skin’ color is adusky pink.  There is faint red on thelower torso front and inside the arms.  Theleg mechanism works; crotch seam has opened 1/8”; knees have No cracks; oneknee has a very slight flare that you can feel with the pad of your fingertip;arm hooks and fingers are fineHEADS:-- 1957 bald head: light beige ‘skin’ color (not yellow); original rubber band has broken and is not inside; eyelashesand blush are light -- bald later head: very light beige ‘skin’ color (not yellow); original rubber band is still inside; pale blushwhich may be the way she was made…or may have faded WIGS: -- red with bangsthat are more of a tosca color: not trimmed; no barrettes; no bald spots;rubber skull cap has small tears (no chipped areas) around the edges with alonger tear where the bangs are heavily rooted-- blond:not trimmed; no barrettes; no bald spots; rubber skull cap edge has a piecemissing on one side, small cracks on the edge and a few longer ones under thebangs (all will be hidden by the hair)TORSO:-- pinky beige‘skin’ with no stains; leg mechanism is working; crotch seam has opened1/8” wide; one lower side seam has opened about ¼”; one shoulder has openedabout 3/8” longARMS:-- no stains; hooksand fingers are fine; color has darkened over time—the instructions will tellyou how to lighten them NOTE:  You will most likely hold on to some (the wigs will be usedquickly!) or all of these parts for a long time until you find just the dollthat they will match.RepairInstructions/Suggestions:NOTE:  The instructions and suggestions with a few color pictures willnot be printed in the hard copy format that is in the pictures, but will be ona CD that will be included in the lot. You can print them if you want, or just use them from the CD.These ideas are specificto the problems that you will run into as you collect the 1957-1963 hardplastic 8” Betsy Mc Call doll and have each been successfully developed andused over the years by myself (with a lot of help from my husband) and a fewsuggestions from my Betsy friends.  Some of the suggestionsinvolve harsh materials, so please use them only as a last resort for veryplayed-with dolls.You will find ideasand steps to follow for:- TakeOff Soil-Washing Betsy’s Hair-Removing Betsy’s Wig- How to Make Betsy Safely Sit- RemoveOld Wig Glue- Glue aWig Back On- RemoveOld Tape Residue-Light/Faded Hard Plastic Upper Eye Lashes-Scratch in the White of her Eye-Replacing Missing Arm Hook-Replacing Missing Neck Hook- Removing Betsy’s Head- BrokenHead Rubber Band - A PeakInside Betsy’s Head-‘Rubber Bands’ for Arms- included are 2 new rubber bands to be used for Betsy’sarms.  One is piece of rubber tubing thatis thick like the original bands used for Betsy’s arms.  The other band is a smaller band to be used alongwith a loose original band to hold the arms snuggly  (best to use the tiny bands to supplement theoriginal ones that have loosened).  The thicker, tube band is with the pair ofarms in this auction and the much smaller, supplemental band is holding thearms in the torso in this auction and will need to be paired with an originalband to be effective.- Flaredknees-Cracked Sides or Shoulder Seams- Opened Crotch Seam- Head Seam Open-Lighten Hard Plastic arms/legs-Stained Hard Plastic- BrokenHip Disc- RemoveLeg from Torso-‘Frozen’ Knee with Metal Peg Connections- 1stYear Betsy Broken Knee Plastic Tabs - Method #1- 1stYear Betsy Broken Knee Plastic Tabs – Method #2:-Cleaning Clothes- Tightening Old Elastic on Clothing-Cleaning the Rubber Shoes- RubberShoes with 'Bowed' Out Sides *NOTE:  Pleasepractice the suggestions and get comfortable with the procedures on trashedBetsy parts before you try them on a ‘nice’ Betsy.  There is no guarantee that our successwith also be yours, sorry.*** These items came to me through e-baypurchases.  I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odorson them, but I cannot guarantee what environment they came from.  *** I do combine shipment on multiplewins of my other auctions to save on shipping.
