Live Steam Traction Engine and Thresher ModelsScratch Built in 1980'sVery good used conditionSteam traction engine model has not been run since I have owned it, but appears complete and was run by original builderWas cosmetically restored and cross shaft bearings replaced by the original builder about 15-20 years agoI bought these at an estate sale around 2005. The son of the original builder was at the sale and told me his dad had built the traction engine and thresher in the 19...80's. (see markings in the photos on both the engine and thresher). He said his dad had run the engine at various shows for several years as a coal burner. As his dad got older, he had stopped running it at shows, but had repainted the engine and replaced the cross shaft bearings. Everything seems tight and rotates freely. The thresher belts are made of elastic and will need to be replaced to run the thresher. Only the belts shown in the photos are included, some may be missing. No thresher drive belt.The thresher is a model of a Robinson Thresher, and has "Robinson" on the chute. I've never figured out exactly what model the traction engine model is designed to represent. My guess is that both of these were constructed from kits, at least a casting kit for the traction engine and a more complete detailed kit for the thresher. However, I have never seen another of either the engine or the thresher, and I've looked a lot. If anyone has additional info on these models, I would love to know.Traction engine is about 20" Long x 8.25" Wide x 10.75" HighThresher is about 26" Long x 7.5" Wide x 10" High, Length includes the tow barTraction engine weighs about 28 lbs., Thresher weighs about 11 lbs.While this engine was built and used as a coal burner, I am sure if you wanted to run this, either esbit or a butane burner could be used.
