For sale is a really nice cup and saucer made by an unknown maker in England in about 1810. I tried to figure out who made but got the unknown from the books as well so it is a true mystery. The handle shape was a good chance to figure it out but so far it appears no one has done so. Either way this is a superb piece. Large in size so likely a breakfast cup and entire hand painted with a nice bird and floral design very reminiscent of the top German maker with a puce scale design to th...e rim and a bit of gold trim. The translucency is straw colored. Feels very much like some Spode pieces I have owned but more thinly potted. The quality is very high end. I am amazed no one has figured it out yet. The set is in perfect condition with some very minor wear. Neither piece is marked at all. The cup is just over 2.5 inches tall and 4.2.5 in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall with a diameter of 6.375 inches. 19th century
