Offered for sale is this antique early 19th century English porcelain small tureen, beautifully decorated in the Chelsea style with many exotic birds, oversize insects, and gold. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures.
This is a small tureen, it is just over 8.25 inches long from handle to handle, and is just under 5.5 inches tall.
It is in excellent condition. There are some touches of age appropriate wear to the gold and glaze on the handles, and there are a few... small spots of age discoloration. The cover has one small fleabite on the part that sits down into the tureen - the tip of the pen is pointing to this. Please see the close up pictures.
The only mark is a very faint "V.I" or "V.1" incised on the bottom.
