This is a fine 18th century baby cap with Valenciennes lace border and insert to top crown. Two cords at back to adjust size. A beautiful little cap but it has signs of alteration - the straight middle seam has unfinished edges and there is a gap to the lace border at both sides. Reasonable condition - three small holes to top crown, Valenciennes lace at back edge is a little worn.
