Here’s a little more about this piece from saxophone.org.
The Berg Larsen Deluxe metal mouthpiece was a special order only piece that was offered during the mid 1940's to earl...y 1950's, when Berg began its manufacturing of stainless steel mouthpieces. They offered the mouthpiece in alto, tenor, and baritone, but they are incredibly rare. These are the 2nd rarest of all Berg Larsen mouthpieces, coming in right behind the Charlie Ventura model. The only Deluxe models we have ever seen was for tenor. This is a huge tip opening for a 1940's vintage mouthpiece. Other stainless steel "Special" slant signatures are typically seen around 85 up to 95, and of course the Charlie Ventura model was only offered in 100. Anything over 100 is very rare. Large tip openings just weren't really produced unless they were special ordered. The special DeLuxe Berg Larsen has a huge sound!!! It is also extremely easy to control. The 2 baffle height gives the mouthpiece a darker sound with really nice resonance.
I know it's not cheap, but these are very hard to find and I really like this mouthpiece. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
