VE...RY RARE VINTAGE NOVEMBER, 1965 UK 7" ONE SIDED ACETATE RECORDING OF THE CLASSIC BEATLES SONG, " THINK FOR YOURSELF " WRITTEN BY GEORGE HARRISON! RUNNING TIME IS 2:17. THE SONG WAS FEATURED ON THE UK AND U.S. ' RUBBER SOUL " LP. GREAT GEORGE SONG TOO. THE ACETATE CONDITION IS A VG- TO G++. IT HAS SOME LINES AND SCUFFS, BUT WILL PLAY FINE. THE REVERSE SMOOTH SIDE HAS SOME FRACTURES IN THE ACETATE SURFACE WITH ONE TINY CHIP AT THE EDGE. TYPICAL CONDITION FOR THESE OLD ACETATES. THE VERSION OF THE SONG IS THE VERSION THAT APPEARED ON THE ALBUM AS TAKE 1 ON NOVEMBER 10, 1965. THIS IS THE MONO MIX OF THE SONG. THE B SIDE IS BLANK WITH NO LABELING. AS YOU MAY KNOW, ACETATE RECORDINGS ARE RARE IN THAT THEY ARE INDUSTRY USE ONLY REFERENCE RECORDS TO TEST THE QUALITY RETENTION AND INTEGRITY OF THE SOUND AS TRANSFERRED FROM TAPE TO DISC. THE RECORD HAS AN ALUMINUM METAL CORE WITH A ACETATE LACQUER RECORDING SURFACE. THE ACTUAL ACETATE WAS PREPARED AND CUT BY KEN SCOTT. (See the image of the acetate ' cutting machine '!) THEY WERE NOT DESIGNED AT ALL FOR EXTENDED PLAY USE AND CERTAINLY NOT INTENDED FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC IN ANY WAY. THEY WERE STRICTLY FOR INDUSTRY IN-HOUSE USES AND REFERENCE. THIS EXAMPLE FEATURES THE STANDARD "EMIDISC" BLACK PRINT ON WHITE 3" LABEL ON THE PLAY SIDE. THE HANDWRITING WAS DONE AT THE STUDIO. THIS ITEM WILL COME WITH A CD TRANSFER OF PLAY AS DONE ON PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT BY 3 TIME GRAMMY WINNER " MICHAEL GRAVES "! (Michael Graves is an American mastering engineer. He specializes in audio restoration and audio preservation. Graves is a three-time Grammy award-winner and a ten-time Grammy nominee. He is widely considered one of the best audio engineers in his field. ) MR. GRAVES PROVIDED A 5" CD RECORDING HE MASTERED AND TRANSFERRED HIMSELF FOR THE OWNER OF THIS ACETATE. IN ADDITION, HE INCLUDES A NICE FLIER OF INFORMATION ABOUT THE SONG AND IT'S RECORDING, MASTERING, ETC. THERE IS A NICE JEWEL CASE WITH INSERTS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS CD. IT HAS ALSO BEEN EXAMINED AND DEEMED AUTHENTIC BY PAUL WANE AT THE VERY REPUTABLE TRACKS, UK. IT DOES COME WITH THEIR TRACKS LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY WHICH ALSO MENTIONS THE OWNERSHIP OF THE ACETATE BY PAUL'S AUNT MILLIE. (Note the mis-spelling of "Milly's name as "Millie". While that ink is black, it is a different tone in color. Likely the name was written later by somebody who simply didn't know the correct spelling when Paul requested the single given to her. This history is likely as reported. It has not been proven a fact. That this single IS an original UK 1965 authentic acetate recording is a fact.)
