The 26 star Flag became the Official United States Flag on July 4th, 1837. A star was added for the admission of Michigan (January 26th, 1837) and was to last for 8 years. The four Presidents to serve under this flag were; Martin Van Buren (1837-1841), William Henry Harrison (1841), John Tyler (1841-1845), and James Polk (1845-1849).
This 175-year... old printed flag measures 3 7/8" Wide" x 2 3/8" High. The original wood staff is 4" long. The flag has a Very rare star pattern featuring 13 stars in a circle, a large central star with four smaller companions inside the circle, plus four pairs of stars in the corners.
A Wonderful addition for any flag collection.
Condition: Very Good vintage condition. The Colors are vibrant, with some minor brown spots and aging. A nice displayable historic piece of American History. Please view all photos carefully. The photos are an integral part of the condition description.
