This scarce work has been rebacked in later calf and gilt, with contemporary boards retained. It measures approx. 24.5cm x 19cm x 1.4cm. The original leather to board corners is heavily surface worn with loss. The boards are and marbled paper is surface worn and scuffed. Else the binding is good and firm. Internally, there are recent endpapers added to the front and rear, with an earlier armorial bookplate re-laid. There is a faint worm trail to the top margins throughout, in varying degrees. As can be seen from the images, both plates are damaged, and mostly lacking. The first plate looks to be only a quarter of the original, and the second plate, is lacking half, and the remaining half has a large repair to verso. The contents have the odd scattered mark or light crease, with a little scattered pale foxing. Else text in very reasonable condition.
viii, 62, [2]p. (Plates, damaged/lacking). Text complete.
With a final leaf advertising Martin’s instruments.
