Vintage CARTIER Tube / Lipstick WATCH LIGHTER A rare vintage Cartier tube lighter with concealed watch. Watch is housed in a rotating drum within the case so that the dial can be concealed for safe storage. This novel design was employed by Cartier in lipstick-watches and pencil-lighter-watches but we were unable to find another example of a similar watch-lighter only combination. We found a 1930's patent for this piece attributed to H. Schlacht for a "Tubular Watchcase", Please see picture. Ste...rling silver construction with 14K gold accents and jade green enamel finish. Unfortunately most of the enamel finish has fallen off and the remaining finish is loose and flaking. Measures 77.7mm long x 12.4mm in diameter Marked on interior section: "14K - STERLING - 71 - 6602". All 3 sections of the tube case marked "71". Marked "PAT 1891611" under watch. Swiss 17 jewel watch movement signed Normis Watch Co. Includes french made green hinged Cartier box. Fresh out of a life long world class lighter collection. As-is vintage condition with heavy enamel loss. No apparent dings, dents, or deep scratches. Watch is not currently running. Lighter functions perfectly. Sold as-is / as-found.
