Original Dodge Brothers winged enamel radiator badge emblem insignia nameplate. The Dodge Brothers started building cars in 1914 in Detroit. The company was purchased by Walter P. Chrysler in 1928 and is still around today. Online research indicates this type of emblem was used from 1933 to 1935 on cars and trucks but I do not know the exact year, model, or application for this example. Badges like these were made using the champleve or guilloche p...rocess of heat bonding melted glass to a copper base which was then plated. 5 7/16" wide by 1 1/2" high, black and translucent brown and gold enamel with highly detailed wings and nickel plating. Maker's mark "FOX COMPANY CINCINNATI, O. U.S.A." on back. Good used condition with no bends, dents or cracks, some scratches and edge scrapes. Two areas of enamel chipping and some crazing, balance of enamel is very nice. The original nickel plating shows wear and patina. Both mounting studs, washers and nuts are intact and useable.
