Original Dodge Brothers winged enamel radiator badge emblem insignia nameplate. The Dodge Brothers started building cars in 1914 in Detroit. The company was purchased by Walter P. Chrysler in 1928 and is still around today. Online research indicates this type of emblem was used in 1929 and 1930 but I do not know the exact year, model, or application for this example. Badges like these were made using the champleve or guilloche process of heat bonding melted ...glass to a copper base which was then plated. 3 9/16" wide by 1 7/16" high, light blue and black enamel with highly detailed wings and nickel plating. Maker's mark "GUS. FOX CO. CIN. O." on back. Good used condition, no cracks or bends, one very shallow dent at center with enamel loss. Original plating is worn and attractively patinated, both mounting studs and nuts are intact and useable. Great for your collection, use as is on a driver or easily restored.
