Sony PCM-601ESD Digital Audio Interface. These seldom come up for sale )if you check hifi shark odds are you will find none globally. Unlike the 501 es, this model includes a digital in for direct from cd recording and digital out which would allow for bypassing the internal dac. What this does is allow you to record and playback audio as digital files onto vhs or betamax tapes, it is basically DAT before there was DAT. This unit works, I have tested it by recording onto a VHS player a...nd then playing the recording back, I also played back tapes that were recorded on a different machine. Clean record level pots and headphone volume pot (no scratchiness or static). Cosmetically has some scratches and dents mostly on the top. Faceplate presents reasonably well (see photos).
