Kellogg was an early manufacturer of telephones and central office equipment. They later became ITT.The introduction of Bakelite made possible beautiful designs at a reasonable cost. Bakelite could be shaped to accommodate the relatively large components available at that early time.
This and two other Kellogg types were often referred as "ash tray" due the the concave depressions where the handset rests. Bakelite was used to make ashtrays at that time as it is very heat resistant.
The ringer in this model has small spring suspended solid brass bells that produce a musical ringing sound.
It is rare to find this model telephone in such fine condition as most have damaged Bakelite. All of the components are in good operating condition. I have restored many 925's and usually have to repair the Bakelite, replace capacitors and other components. This one is remarkable as no alterations were required except for the rubber bumpers on the bottom cover.
The dial center card displays the Kellogg Switchboard & Supply CO logo "FLYING K"
