If you like all-original, untouched Victor phonographs, then this example is for you!....this FABULOUS Victor Monarch phonograph is my last external horn machine....I always loved this example because of the original New York dealer tag and coordinating paper label on the bottom of the cabinet, both of which read: "Dronsick & Daiboch Pianos & Phonographs 159-61 E. Broadway, N.Y."....large horn measures approximately 24" long with a 16 3/4" diameter brass bell....100% Original, ...untouched condition right down to the turntable felt....POSITIVES: horn is better than average with a good Nipper decal and remarkably few dents on the brass bell....original finish on the cabinet....original slotted crank....original round-hole exhibition reproducer....good original decoration on the back-bracket....while I have not played a record on this machine, it winds up well with no spring slippage noted....FLAWS: the cast iron turnable is currently stuck on the spindle....the "U" portion of the tone arm is frozen and will not swivel....a small area of rust on the top of the cast iron back bracket (photo 9)....overall wear to the nickel-plating....a small chip to a corner of the lower molding (photo 7)....the base to one of the corner pilasters is missing, however I'm including an old one that is the correct width but a little short for you to attach or modify if you choose (last photo)....PLEASE note that this machine will be carefully packed and shipped in two double-boxed boxes....If shipping ends up being less than the quoted price the difference will be promptly refunded....please study all photos, feel free to ask questions, and be sure to check out my other interesting antique auctions!
