Lovely early Victor III phonograph....serial number 11839 dates this example to roughly 1906....while darkened and difficult to read, I believe the original paper license on the bottom of the cabinet reads "March 1, 1902"....PLEASE NOTE the superb original celluloid dealer tag which reads "Landay Bros., Victor Talking Machine Studio, 288 Fifth Ave., New York"....very good, original condition....all-original, other than the exhibition reproducer, which has a triangular hole and appears ...to have been rebuilt....original turntable felt, original finish on the cabinet, original nickel plating, original gilt filigree and pin-striping on the back bracket, original slotted crank and horn elbow....the motor is frozen and does not wind or is over-wound....turntable does not spin....early bullet brake is incomplete/missing the lever....2 of the 3 governor weights are detached but included, along with the original screws (photo 10)....one corner pilaster in the rear is missing the lower base (photo 7)....original factory finish has some thinning, wear, and darkening in areas....original 9-panel horn retains the original Nipper decal and paint....while the original paint on the horn retains great sheen/gloss, it is worn and thin in areas....original paper patent label....PLEASE note that this machine will be carefully packed with the motor removed from the cabinet and most likely shipped in two double-boxed boxes....please study all photos, feel free to ask questions, and be sure to check out my other interesting antique auctions!
