Up for auction is a Very Rare, "Red Leather Edition" of The Stand by Stephen King.
"Red Leather Editions" of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!!
Hardcover with its original red, faux leather binding.Lettering in faux gold with Stephen King's signature stamped on the front cover.

For those of you unfamiliar with what is commonly referred to as "The Red Leather Editions",... here is a very brief description.A set of 37 King books were published by a Book of the Month group known as 'The Stephen King Library". These editions were only made available to members of the book club. They quickly became known as "The Red Leather Editions", somewhat odd in that the binding is actually faux leather, NOT genuine leather.Due in large part to their exclusivity, their uniqueness and their rarity, "Red Leather Editions" have become highly sought after and highly desirable!Some titles in the collection are more coveted than others, The Stand being one of them!
This rare treasure has some wear, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition!
The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing or ripped pages and is NOT Ex-Libris.
The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean!
Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/boards, scratches/chipping/wear to both the front and rear boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and scuffing/wear along the edges of some of the pages, NOT affecting the text!The pages all have creases resulting in a somewhat "wavy" appearance. From our experience, the wear does not appear to have been caused by previous owner neglect. None of the pages have those dreaded "dog ear" creases, for example.With that said, all of the pages do have that "wavy" appearance and the wear is very clearly visible!Please also note the creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and the scratches/chipping/wear that is present on both the front and rear board!The wear, while not terribly egregious, is still very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.
We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear.Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear is VERY clearly visible!All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.
