Up for auction is a large beaded plateau bag. It has a running elk design. It is 13-1/2" tall by 11-3/4" wide. The design has a heart. Yellow beaded background. The inside is a 1920's period flower design cloth. The outside is muslin trade cloth. There is a spot of minor bead loss about 1/2" on the perimeter of the heart. The black beads that are the perimeter of the heart. The reast of the beadwork is in great condition. This piece is out of the Lutheran Reverend Ernest Von Kron...witter that was from Germany but was doing Missionary work in the Dakotas and other Indian Reservations in the early 1900's He collected these items and took them back to Germany before World War 1 broke out.
