Joanies is very excited to be offering a fine and rare selection of Ming and pre Ming ceramics and other interesting objects including examples from the important estate collection of the late Mr. Pao. We have offered several items from this collection over the past couple years and have now been asked to offer the... remaining pieces. Mr Pao was a personal friend and was highly respected as a knowledgable scholarly collector and Chinese art dealer during the 1960-90s period. Mr. Pao owned a high end Chinese art gallery in the prestigious Four Seasons hotel in Toronto that has been closed for around 20 years now. The sale also includes an important set of five early Ming dynasty Buddhist emblems that were deaccessioned by the Royal Ontario Museum c1969.
A number of the items being offered from the collection were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays and other issues this year the estate had asked us to offer All the remaining items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples. This will be our Last large Asian art offering of the winter season.

Up for auction is a RARE CHINESE IMPERIAL GUANGXU MARK & PERIOD BLUE GLAZE ELEPHANT CONG VASE. Part of an important estate collection being offered this week. A fine and rarely found Guangxu mark & period blue glazed elephant handled porcelain cong vase. The vase came form the estate with display stand that is included.
Condition: Estate-fresh, the vase could use a light cleaning with minor wear and scratches to the glaze consistent with age. The vase is otherwise in fine conditions with no chips cracks or repairs. UV light reveals no hidden damage.
Size: The vase measures 11 3/4 inches tall by 7 inches wide including the handles and 5 1/2 inches wide without the handles. PLEASE REVIEW PAYMENT AND RETURN POLICIES PRIOR TO BIDDING.
