Here's an nice 1921 RCA Westinghouse DA unit. The RA tuner and DA detector amplifier were pioneering components -- the first tuner and detector/amp units designed explicitly to receive commercial broadcasts when KDKA was launched in late 1920. Until that time, all receiving equipment had been designed for amateur and/or point-to-point use only.The DA unit is original and nice throughout, with clean wiring and retains both of the early Westinghouse open frame AF transformers [one tests ...good, the other has an open secondary section .. easily by-passed with an R/C network]. Brushed bakelite panel is nearly perfect, with no scratches or other damage. Panel tag is clean and legible. Knobs all turn easily. All of the hardware is original, and all of the nickel-plated binding post nuts are present. The rubber tube deck struts have hardened over time (this is the norm, as you know if you're familiar with this radio), but are still intact and the deck still sits snugly on the chassis. Cabinet finish is original and slightly age dulled with some very minor marks on all sides consistent with its age and authenticity, but nothing untoward or distracting. Nice example and these individual units are getting harder to find. It comes with the three display dud UX-201A's shown in the pictures. The set measures approx 6.5" X 9.5" X 10" deep and very well packed shipping weight will be 15 pounds from zip code 24012.
