You are bidding on a GOOD set of LATE-WAR WW2 German Luftwaffe Electrically Heated Pst (Heizbare Flieger Pelzstiefel) 4004 E Flight Boots! Development of protective flight uniforms, equipment and footwear began with the advent of military aircraft in WWI and continued into WW2.Flight boots were considered an integral part of the flight suit, and the first flight boots developed after WW1 were the fur lined Model PST 3, which were introduced on November 6, 1935. In 1936, the ...Germans developed an electrically heated flight suit that consisted of a one piece, jacket/pant combination with separate gloves and socks. On February 16, 1940 the first electrically heated flight boots were introduced to augment the already produced electrically heated flights suits and worked on the same principal with built-in, insulated heating elements that drew their power directly from the aircraft. These electrically heated flight boots were a modification of the earlier Pst 4004, and were designated Pst 4004 E, (Fur Boots 4004 Electric). Made of brushed suede, leather and rubber, this is an NICE pair of 100% MATCHING WWII German heated flight boots! They appear to be a size 44 (Size 11.5 US), and are in GOOD used condition! All the leather is still very supple, however there is some marks from storage as shown in the photos. The occasional scuff here and there, but still VERY solid! These are a matching set, with an overall height of approx 16". They both retain the original matching factory labels on the inside, and both zippers (late-war plastic) feature the manufacture stamp "RiRi". Snaps are of the "PRYM" type. There are some field repairs on each, as you can see in the photos. The interior of the boots are fully lined in natural, white, lamb’s fleece, and the outside features adjustable leather straps at the top, as well as a fit diagonal adjustment on the side. The electrical connectors are 100% intact (usually these were cut out at the end of the war), and the soles are 100% ORIGINAL to this set! As they were worn, they do feature wear on the rubber. Heals are still strong. Captured at the end of the war, these would make a PERFECT addition to any collection, display, or re-enactor!
