Rare Chinese Military/Police Retractable Knife, Unique Design, SS Blade

This is NOT a switch blade knife, it is not a folding knife, it is not a fixed blade knife. I guess you would call it a retractable knife. Believe this to be a Chinese military, police, or border guard knife. It has the red star of China on it. The belt attachment is metal and part of the upper part, (see sheath). The bottom button is a blade release. You manually pull it away from the top part (with the red star). The middle button helps to guide the metal connector together to close ...the bottom and top. The connector fits into a recess in the blade, and you manually push the handles back together. The handles are a plastic composite material. Blade is very sharp and excellent condition.. This has been in my collection for probably 15 years. The middle handle button is marked GA01. The blade is marked GA9117. A very unique piece. I could find nothing online about this.
