Offering for your consideration, a very nice and very rare Nikko TRM-800 integrated amplifier in very good condition, cosmetically and functionally. This machine was the top of the line for the model year1975. It is rated at 65 WRMS per channel with a speaker load of 8 ohms, and 90 WRMS per channel with a speaker load of 4 ohms, with a usable frequency response of 10 to 40, 000 hz with a THD of 0.3% at rated output. This was a very flexible unit for its time, with a multitude of feature...s not normally seen in its contemporaries. Three pairs of speakers can be connected to it, although no more than two pairs can be operated simultaneously. It has a bunch of inputs including two auxiliary line inputs, tuner, two phono inputs with adjustable cartridge impedance matching on phono two, two tape input and outputs with tape dubbing capability, and the ability to separate the preamp output from the amplifier input, for installation of an equalizer or other sound processor or for connection of the preamp stages to a separate power amplifier. Both the bass and treble controls have adjustable rollover and the low and high filters each have two ranges of frequencies that they can be set for. The unit was opened up and cleaned, and all of the control operators and pots were cleaned and treated. The faceplate of the unit is near mint and all of the silkscreened lettering and characters are sharp and clear. There is a scratch probably caused by another piece of equipment being moved on or off of the top of the unit in the past, but it is not visible from the front of the unit. The cabinet is in presentable condition and with a little work could be brought back to perfect. The nice thing about equipment from this period was that manufacturers used good quality wood veneer that was from 5 to 10 mils thick, so it could be sanded and re-stained if someone wanted to do so. I have done other pieces in the past and have gotten really good results. All of the inputs have been tested functionally and the unit sounds really nice. Not bad for a piece of equipment that is almost 50 years old. This is a very fine example of a piece from that product line. You won’t be disappointed. The original instruction manual will be shipped with the unit.Due to the age of the unit, it is sold as-is, with no warrantees, written or implied. I do guarantee it to be in the condition as described. If you happen to live near-by, local pick-up is OK and encouraged. If shipped, it will be shipped using USPS, with a packing and shipping cost of $80 USD in the lower 48. It will be very carefully packed. I will not allow a nice piece like this to be damaged in shipping. It will be insured by me for the amount of the sale.Buyer must make payment within five business days. I prefer PayPal but also accept bank drafts and direct payment with local pickup. If these conditions are not met, the sale will be voided and the unit re-listed.Let me know if you have any questions regarding this machine. I will answer them as quickly and as accurately as I can. Thanks for your interest.
