Up for auction is a nice old vintage American made early/mid 1900s W. Wilkanowski "Stradiuarius" 1 pc. back full size violin for restoration. The tastefully figured 1 pc curly maple back measures 14 3/16 by 8 1/4 inches. The violin is lined and has 4 corner blocks. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin and the neck is solid. The scroll is in good condition and the pegbox had been professionally repaired at one time. The bushings were installed professionally and are st...able and holding (please check pics). The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard is in good condition. The soundpost is standing inside the violin and there are no open seams. The pegs, tailpiece and chinrest are rosewood and look to be in new condition (please check pics). The strings also look to be in new condition as they look like they have not been played on. I do not know the brand. The violin is labelled as a "Copy Antonius Stradiuarius Cremona 1736" and is also labelled "W. Wilkanowski Brooklyn N.Y. Shop Violin". The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The violin has a solid hairline repair to the right of the tailpiece (please check pics).
