Pachycephalosaurus Vertebra
This vertebra comes from the dome headed dinosaur, Pachycephalosaurus. Pachycephalosaurus had a pattern of bony nodes or spikes around the back of the skull, eyes, and clustered on top of the nose. Adult Pachycephalosaurs reached lengths of up to 26 feet long and had a massively thickened skull or dome.
This Pachycephalosaurus vertebra was found in one piece needing no restoration. The fossil has some river wear. The ver...tebra has nice detail and preservation with a dark brown coloration. All around a nice example of a Pachycephalosaurus vertebra that would be a great addition to any fossil collection.
The Pachycephalosaurus Vertebra measures: 3 1/2" inches wide by 2" inches in length.
This Pachycephalosaurus fossil was dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana. The vertebra was collected on private ranch land with the owner's permission.
