1927 - 29 Studebaker Atalanta Radiator Cap Car Mascot Hood Ornament
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:4330879 | Year: 1927 |
I believe this radiator cap / hood ornament to be a 1927-28 first Edition as it screws on and is not a Twist lock cap. It is in great condition considering its age and is marked on the front and back (ATALANTA).
It was designed by Carl Moss (student of Chicago sculptor Lorado Taft). It depicts a robed woman running at speed and is in the classic art deco style.
